2 Website and Business-Contact Privacy Requests

Depending on applicable law and the relationship involved, a person may request access, correction, deletion, a copy, restriction, objection, or information about certain processing.

Rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction, information type, legal duty, contract, security need, and relationship.

3 Applicant Report Requests and Disputes

A person who believes that information in an applicant screening report is inaccurate or incomplete may submit a dispute and supporting information.

A request concerning an applicant report should be clearly identified so that it is routed separately from a general website privacy request.

  • Identify the employer or organization connected to the request.
  • Provide the approximate report or application date.
  • Identify the specific item believed to be inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Describe the requested correction and include relevant supporting information.
  • Use the secure identity-verification process provided by STC VeriShield.

Do not send identity documents, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or driver’s license images through ordinary email unless a secure method has been provided.

4 Identity Verification

STC VeriShield may need to verify identity, authority, and relationship before disclosing, correcting, deleting, or changing information.

The verification method will be proportionate to the sensitivity of the information and the risk of unauthorized access.

5 Authorized Agents and Representatives

A request submitted through an authorized agent or representative may require proof of authority and direct identity confirmation from the person involved.

STC VeriShield may decline to disclose information to an agent when authority or identity cannot be reasonably verified.

6 Response Timing

STC VeriShield will acknowledge and respond within the period required by applicable law or the governing service process.

Additional time may be needed for complex, high-volume, archived, disputed, or identity-sensitive requests. The requester will be informed when an extension or additional information is needed.

7 Limitations and Exceptions

A request may be limited or denied when information must be retained or processed for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, recordkeeping, contract performance, protected legal claims, or another permitted purpose.

A response will explain an applicable limitation when required.

8 How to Submit a Request
